Quilting 101 using repurposed textiles
2 Sessions - Feb 27 & March 5, 2020
5:30-7:30pm
$90 for the 2 classes, including supplies
Please register by February 24th.
Learn basic hand sewing skills in this 2 session workshop. Students will design and stitch a mini quilt in a casual, supportive environment. All supplies are included, however, students are encouraged to bring fabrics (woven/ non-stretchy) that they may want to work with! These can include thrifted garments and home textiles. Natural fibers such as cotton, linen, silk, and wool are recommended.
Jamie Lyn Kara is an artist and quilt maker based out of the Hudson Valley. Jamie’s art practice focuses on telling stories through quilt making and fabric manipulation. She uses textiles as a medium to explore connection, memory, and place.
Jamie completed her BFA in Fibers from the Savannah College of Art and Design and has shown her work both nationally and internationally.
