OCTOBER 10-11

AS THE WORLD GRAPPLES WITH THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, RACIAL INJUSTICE, AND CLIMATE CHANGE, THE CLIMATE REALITY PROJECT IS PARTNERING WITH TED COUNTDOWN FOR 24 HOURS OF PRESENTATIONS AND CONVERSATIONS ON THE MOMENT WE'RE LIVING IN AND THE FUTURE WE WANT.

What:
24 Hours of Reality: Countdown to the Future
When: October 10, 4PM ET - October 11, 4PM ET
Where: Where: streaming worldwide. Find an event here.
Who: Al Gore, Climate Reality Leaders, and YOU!

The climate crisis, COVID-19, and a global reckoning on racial justice are turning our world upside down, forcing us to rethink normal and opening the door to truly transformative change.

With the world asking what comes next, The Climate Reality Project and TED are partnering for two incredible days of presentations and discussions exploring the future we want and how we get there.

It kicks off at 11am ET on October 10 with TED’s Countdown, a five-hour program of livestreamed TED talks and discussions with world-changing innovators and thought leaders confronting the climate crisis head-on and showing the way to a just, zero-carbon future.

Then at 4pm ET, 24 Hours of Reality: Countdown to the Future continues the conversation with 24 full hours of digital presentations and discussions of how the climate crisis, COVID-19, and racial injustice shape our planet and this incredible moment. All led by former Vice President Al Gore and Climate Reality Leaders and happening all around the world.

Anyone can request a free presentation for their school, office, place of worship, or community. Plus, many presentations will be open to the public, allowing audiences anywhere to log in and join the conversation. For everyone who attends and confirms their participation, Climate Reality and One Tree Planted will plant a tree to help reduce greenhouse gases and fight rising temperatures.

It’s a day to see where we stand – and together - imagine where we can go.

Resilient Minds, Resilient Planet

Resilient Minds, Resilient Planet
Thursday, Oct. 8
7 p.m. CDT / 8 p.m. EDT

Join the virtual event here

How does our inner resilience and well-being reflect that of our communities and of our physical environment and planet? Large-scale injustices such as racism, gender inequity and lack of equal rights for marginalized people not only erode our individual and collective health and spirit, but are also destructive to the planet. Can emotional resilience in the face of these injustices be the answer on how we build resilience and just practices for the planet?

Join Dekila Chungyalpa, Director of the Loka Initiative at the Center for Healthy Minds, Gary Besaw, Ex-Chairman of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin, Heather McTeer Toney, Field Director of Moms Clean Air Force and Dr. Katharine Hayhoe, Atmospheric Scientist and Director of the Climate Science Center at Texas Tech University, to explore how vulnerability can transform into strength and how internal, community and environmental resilience are all necessary for each one of us to thrive.
