Germantown Laundromat Popup @ Letterbox Farm

This summer, the Germantown Laundromat is popping up at Letterbox Farm in Hudson, NY offering bulk refills and other sustainable household products - items that help our community reduce waste (especially of the single-use plastic variety!) 

So swing by on the first Thursday of every month, July thru October, 4-7pm to refill & pickup your sustainable household goods!

Refillable products include laundry detergent, hand soap, dish soap, all-purpose cleaning spray, essential oil & more.

Other products available for purchase include dishwasher tabs, oxygen brightener, wooden dish brushes, cleaning cloths, and more!

The Germantown Laundromat Pop-Up is weather permitting so stay tuned for updates on our Instagram @germantown_laundromat

Swiss Darning Workshop w/ TOAST + Upstate Diary

In collaboration with TOAST + Upstate Diary, Germantown Laundromat is offering a series of Mending + Repair Workshops during the month of May! The second of this series is on Sunday May 21st


Swiss Darning with Anna Svoboda-Stel

Join our mending + repair specialist, Anna Svoboda-Stel, and TOAST for an introduction to Swiss darning. During the workshop, Anna will show you how to select the right weight of yarn for your repair, helping you to create a unique mend and extend the life of your garment. Using knitted samples and yarns leftover from the TOAST production process, Anna will demonstrate how to mend small and large holes using this traditional technique.

This workshop is suitable for beginners. Mending materials and morning refreshments will be provided. Please bring along an item you would like to repair; alternatively you will be able to learn the techniques and create a small sampler.

Date: Sun May 28th , 10am – 12pm.
Location: Renew Exhibition & Workshops - 415 B Warren Street, Hudson NY
Tickets include mending materials and cost $15.

Sashiko & Patchwork Repair with Anna Svoboda-Stel

Join our mending + repair specialist, Anna Svoboda-Stel, and TOAST to discover the art of visible mending. In this workshop, Anna will show you how to repair and restore your beloved clothing and homeware textiles – whether it’s a fraying pillowcase, a torn tea towel or a linen garment that needs some care. Using patches of leftover fabric from the TOAST production process, Anna will demonstrate how to mend holes and tears using traditional techniques including kantha stitching and sashiko repair.

This workshop is suitable for beginners. Mending materials and morning refreshments will be provided. Please bring along an item you would like to repair; alternatively you will be able to learn the techniques and create a small sampler.

  • DIY gift wrap - did you know you can make a stamp out of a potato?! Carve your own simple stamp to make printed gift wrap on recycled paper

  • Gift toppers - create festive toppers using wild foraged, natural materials

  • Plant dyed ribbons - dip fabrics into pots of natural dyes to create beautiful, reusable ribbons
