Learn the art of natural dyeing with local flowers and seasonal plants! Students will be provided with two silk scarves/bandanas to create kaleidoscope compositions of natural color. The process is experimental and fun with such rewarding results! While our scarves steam we will mix up a batch of herbal soaking salts using some of the same plants + flowers used in bundle dyeing.

This workshop will cover:

-The steps of preparing fabrics for dyeing
-Types of plants that can be used to produce natural color
-How to extract natural color onto fabric
-Instructions and supplies for making herbal soaking salts
