Visible Mending : Hand Sewn Patches with April Rose - August 26th
Visible Mending : Hand Sewn Patches with April Rose - August 26th
Join April Rose in this workshop for making hand sewn patches! This visible mending technique not only repairs your worn out clothes it transforms them into one-of-a-kind beautiful garments! Rather than cover up the holes and wear, we will highlight them by sewing our patches under the damaged area and allow the fabric underneath to show through.
No sewing skills required! You will learn hand sewing basics, how to select your fabric and how to create a patch that both looks good and is strong and secure on your garment.
No materials required- Bring a garment or textile to repair with a hole, rip or worn out area if you have one! Sewing supplies and patch fabric will be provided. This technique is for woven fabrics such as cotton, canvas, linen, denim and is not suggested for sweaters/ knits/stretchy or silky/satin fabrics. Cold drinks will be served. Additional details will be sent the week before the workshop.
